Illicit Substance Use and Child Support: An Exploratory Study
The authors found several key takeaways: little research has been done on this area; child support programs don’t specifically focus on these parents even though they are in the customer base; SUDs may make finding and obtaining employment difficult; and problem solving courts and fatherhood programs may be able to address both child support and substance use problems at the same time.
