Feasibility of Collecting Fees for Child Support Services
This Report was written in response to a June 28, 2000, recommendation by the Washington State Joint Legislative Audit and Review Committee to implement fees and recover costs for child support services. The State looked at application fees, fees for services, and fees (interest) for late payments, and determined that fees were not cost effective, and could be detrimental to the struggling families in the state caseload.
