New Hanover County Awards Fourth Consecutive Contract to YoungWilliams
08.06.2017
Completing its competitive procurement process, the New Hanover County Commission selected YoungWilliams to operate its child support program. YoungWilliams has been a continuous partner to New Hanover County since 2004, when it began managing the child support office located in Wilmington, North Carolina. The new contract period commenced July 1, 2017. The YoungWilliams’ office manages about 6,800 cases, and collected nearly $13 million last year.
Alyssa Harrell, an experienced manager, will continue to provide local leadership to this project. In 2016, Alyssa was recognized by the North Carolina Governor and the North Carolina Child Support Council for her leadership and dedication to the program.
During this contract period, YoungWilliams proposes to install its innovative case management technology, Y-Trac, to drill down further into the caseload to improve outcomes for children. YoungWilliams currently operates child support programs on behalf of twelve other North Carolina counties: Beaufort, Bertie, Hertford, Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Onslow, Pasquotank, Perquimans, and Union.
Regional Vice President Alyson Campbell, who oversees all of YoungWilliams’ North Carolina and Tennessee full service child support projects, stated, “New Hanover County was one of YoungWilliams’ first clients when we began directly contracting with government entities to deliver child support services. We value our relationship with county personnel, customers, and child support stakeholders. The County has entrusted us with serving the needs of its citizens, and we are committed to fulfilling the County’s vision and goals for the program.”
