Lori Bengston, Project Manager for the Nebraska Customer Service Center, will serve as the President-Elect of the National Child Support Enforcement Association (NCSEA) for 2020-2021. Bengston will become the NCSEA President in August 2021.

Bengston’s involvement with NCSEA spans almost 20 years. She currently serves as the Board Secretary. She is most proud of her part in developing NCSEA U, NCSEA’s professional development initiative for emerging leaders. Bengston co-chaired the committee that formed the Charter, Mission and developed the first set of courses. NCSEA U held the first session at the 2014 Leadership Symposium conference in Portland, Oregon. In addition to co-chairing NCSEA U, she has co-chaired the Membership, Policy Forum, and Professional Development Committees and has been a long-standing member of the Finance Committee.

“NCSEA does a great job of bringing people together to work towards improving our program,” said Bengston. “NCSEA does everything from developing leaders, to educating policy makers, to providing training on current issues.”

This is not Bengston’s first experience as an association President. She previously served as President of the Western Intergovernmental Child Support Engagement Council (WICSEC) from 2011-2012 and as President of the Nebraska Child Support Enforcement Association from 2005-2006. WICSEC recognized Bengston as an Honorary Lifetime Member in 2018 for her long and tireless work for the organization.

Bengston has headed the Nebraska Customer Service Center since it opened in 2001. Under Bengston’s leadership, the Center was awarded the Commissioner’s Teamwork Award for Exemplary Customer Service in 2006 and the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Outstanding Child support Team of the Quarter in 2004. Bengston is recognized as an industry expert in customer service and often speaks at national and state conferences.
