Grenz v. State, Dept. of Family Services, Child Support Enforcement (Wyoming 2011)

Father had overpayments totaling $15,329.84. Of that amount, over $7,000.00 was voluntary overpayments.  The Court determined that father could not recover those payments or have them applied to his future support obligations. The remaining overpayments were the result of unused abatements. The Clerk of District Court entered the abatements on the child support records but there is no requirement for the Clerk to ensure that father reduced his support payment by the abatement amount. The fact that future credits are recognized in the child support records.
